Learn about drone and counter-drone technology, and how to develop counter-drone systems in teams of 3, for this half-day workshop. Each workshop will last approximately 4 hours.

Participants will gain an appreciation of counter-drone solutions and gain insight into how critical assets are protected from aerial threats.

This activity provides a low-stakes environment to learn how to operate drones. Intermediate and advanced participants can also choose to compete against other opponents in timed challenges and attempt autonomous navigation through a maze via the use of algorithms.

Participants can better understand the intricacies of drone technology and the challenges in deploying such devices in a military context.

LiDAR Obstacle Course

Race against the clock as participants navigate their way through a course to the finishing point while evading detection by Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) sensors scanning the area.

Participants will get a first-hand experience of the capability of LiDAR sensors and its ability to detect and track objects and people in cluttered urban environments. Gain an appreciation of its wider applications in security operations.

Legged Robots for Security Applications

Interact with the legged robot and control its movement with the wireless controller.

Participants will gain appreciation of how unmanned systems such as Quadrupedal Unmanned Ground Vehicles (Q-UGVs) can relieve humans of mundane and dangerous tasks, such as security patrols and operations in hazardous or cluttered urban environments.

Admiral’s Battlegrounds: Gamifying the Training Experience

Control a ship to complete a team mission in a naval warfare game. The game map is patrolled by enemy ships, and the team’s mission is to make use of the ship’s capabilities to locate and identify the enemies, chart out a safe route, and escort a VIP to the end goal.

Participants can explore how E-Sports concepts and gamification technologies are leveraged in a naval warfare tactical trainer.
